Finding the Perfect Cookie Recipe (PART 1)

Dear Surily,

For my very first blog, I’ve decided to share my journey in finding the perfect classic chocolate chip cookie recipe. I used Broma Bakery’s recipe for today, and it was honestly not too bad. I browned the butter for the first time in my life. I failed.

I put the butter in the pot on low heat, and it took FOREVERRRR
So I increased the temperature, and it started boiling and bubbling on top. I kept mixing though so I thought it was fine. I increased the temperature again because the butter wasn’t turning that golden brown it should be. And then it went terrible. It started smelling like burnt butter. So I took it off the heat right away and put it into my trusty mixing bowl.

I decided to keep going since the butter was kinda golden brown anyway. Everything after was pretty simple. I finished making the dough and baked the cookies after rolling them into balls. It was also my first time chilling the dough before baking it. I’m not really sure how it helped, but it didn’t ruin the cookies, so I put it in the pros list. The cookies turned out pretty good, and it was amazing with a glass of milk. Overall, it was a good day with chocolate chip cookies.
